11: Watching the Sun Hit the Matterhorn

My train out of Zermatt the next morning was early, but not too early for the sunrise. I set two alarms and made sure I would be up in the dark, moments before the sun was due to appear over the epic Alps that surrounded me. I was up in a flash after the first alarm activated, sleepily balanced my tripod on the hotel balcony railing, and set a timer to take dozens of shots of the epic Matterhorn in various stages of mid-morning splendour. This was one of them.
